Tata Motors has outlined an aggressive product strategy for the Indian market with a strong focus on the SUVs in the Rs 10-20 lakh price bracket and the premium segment. The upcoming range will include urban compact electric cars, lifestyle SUVs, midsize family SUVs and premium EVs along with multiple facelifts and special editions. The Tata Sierra is one of the much-anticipated upcoming SUVs from the home-grown automaker, slated to arrive in early 2026.
Tata Sierra EV & ICE

The Tata Sierra will be the first of 7 new nameplates to be introduced by 2030. Its production is likely to begin in early 2026, followed by its market launch by March. The SUV will debut the brand’s all-new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will power the lower variants. Higher trims are expected to receive a 1.5L turbo petrol engine at a later stage, while a diesel version will also be on offer. The Sierra EV will be introduced before its ICE version, featuring the powertrain borrowed from the Harrier EV.
Similar to the new breed Tata cars, the Sierra will come with a host of premium features including Level 2 ADAS, triple screen setup, ambient lighting, a Harman sound system, 360-degree cameras, ventilated front seats and more.
Tata Scarlet (Mini Sierra)
To further expand its SUV portfolio, Tata will introduce an all-new sub-4 metre lifestyle SUV – the Tata Scarlet (codename). Often referred as the “Mini Sierra”, the Scarlet will derive boxy stance and several design cues from the Sierra. It is expected to arrive during the festive season in the second half of 2026.
This new compact SUV is likely to be based on a monocoque chassis and adopt multi-powertrain strategy. As per media reports, the Tata Scarlet could be offered with the Nexon’s 120bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol, an all-new 1.5L petrol or the Curvv’s 125bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engine. A diesel engine might also be on the cards. Tata could launch an all-electric variant of the Scarlet, featuring a battery pack and dual electric motors.
