The five-seater midsize SUV market in India is bracing for a busy phase with multiple manufacturers readying new entries. Within the next six to nine months, brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Renault and Nissan are set to launch new models which will help expand choices for buyers in an already competitive segment. Here’s a quick look at what’s on the horizon.
1. Mahindra XUV700 Facelift:
Mahindra is preparing a notable update for the XUV700 with its market debut expected in early 2026. The facelift will bring minor cosmetic revisions on the exterior while the cabin will see a big makeover with refreshed design elements and the inclusion of additional features. Despite these updates, the powertrain lineup will remain familiar.
2. Maruti Suzuki Victoris:
Maruti Suzuki recently unveiled the Victoris midsize SUV in India and it will go on sale soon while the e Vitara is heading for launch in the coming months as well. The Victoris will likely be priced around Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will be powered by a 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engines.

3. New Gen Tata Sierra:
Before the closure of this CY, Tata Motors will reintroduce the Sierra nameplate in India. It will arrive first as an EV while the ICE iteration is heading to showrooms in the second half of 2026. It will be equipped with a new 1.5L turbo petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine option.
4. New Renault Duster:
Renault is gearing up to bring back the Duster to India with its launch timeline expected in the first half of 2026. The upcoming model will sit on the CMF-B+ modular platform. Unlike the previous generation, the new Duster will be a far more advanced SUV with hybrid technology forming a key part of its powertrain roadmap for the future.

5. Nissan Midsize SUV:
The upcoming model, based on the CMF-B+ platform like the new-gen Duster, will share several design cues and parts with its sibling. Prototypes have already been spotted testing under camouflage on Indian roads suggesting that the SUV is in advanced stages of development with a launch window expected sometime in 2026.
