Tata Sierra Base Variant Spied – What Buyers Can Expect?

The much-awaited Tata Sierra is undergoing its final test rounds ahead of its market launch in the next couple of months. Fresh spy images show a heavily camouflaged test mule featuring a boxy stance, shark fin antenna and flush door handles. The steel wheels and hubcaps suggest that the spotted test mule was the base variant. The production-ready top variants are likely to be offered with 19-inch alloy wheels.

The squared wheel arch cladding, high set-bonnet and the signature curved-over rear windows will further enhance its commanding appearance. The SUV will sport split headlamp setup at the front and a connected LED light strip at the rear.

What will inside the cabin?

Tata Sierra Interior

Previous spy images confirm that the Tata Sierra will offer a floating three-screen setup, each measuring around 12.3-inches. One screen will work as an infotainment system, another as the instrument cluster and the third will serve the front co-passenger. The SUV will feature a dual-tone dashboard, a Harman sound system, the Harrier EV-sourced four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and ambient lights.

The base variant of the Tata Sierra is likely to miss out on some premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Other key features might include a wireless phone charger, 360-degree cameras, 6 airbags, electronic stability control, and more.

Harrier EV sourced powertrain?

The Tata Sierra will initially be offered with the electric powertrain, which is likely to be borrowed from the Harrier EV. The latter comes with the 65kWh battery paired with single motor and 75kWh battery pack with single and dual motors. The smaller battery version delivers a claimed range of 538km, while the larger battery variant offers 627km (75kWh RWD) and 622km (75kWh AWD). Similar range figures are expected for the Sierra EV.

Petrol & Diesel versions in 2026

The ICE-powered Sierra with an all-new 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 2.0L diesel engines will arrive early next year. Later, the SUV model lineup will gain a new, more powerful 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine.
