GST 2.0 Effect: Citroen C3 Price Drops To Just Rs. 4.80 Lakh

Due to the new GST structure rationalizing taxes, Citroen cars have undergone a significant price reduction in the Indian market

Citroen India has slashed the prices of its entire vehicle range by up to Rs 2.70 lakh due to the recently introduced GST 2.0 in the country. The revised prices will be effective from Sep 22, 2025. The French automaker claims that it has passed full benefits of the GST reduction to the buyers and subsequently all the Citroen cars have witnessed a substantial price cut. The company presently retails six ICE-powered models in the Indian market namely C3, C3X, Aircross SUV, Basalt, Basalt X and C5 Aircross SUV.

Starting with the entry-level C3 and C3X hatchback, they will be cheaper by around Rs 84,000 depending upon the variant. Citroen C3 price will start as low as Rs 4.80 lakh (ex-showroom) after the revised GST rates. Coming to the Aircross SUV, both the 5- and 7-seater variants will become economical by up to Rs 50,000, depending upon the variant.

Making the announcement, Kumar Priyesh, Director-Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said: “The reduction in GST on passenger vehicles is a welcome reform that will expand access to safe, modern, and efficient mobility across India. At Citroën, we remain committed to supporting this initiative by ensuring our customers enjoy the complete benefit of this reduction. By passing on the savings in full, we aim to make our vehicles more accessible across segments, while encouraging new buyers and accelerating adoption during the festive season.”

Talking about the Basalt and Basalt X, both of these models were recently launched with the new GST adjusted prices, starting at Rs 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Last but not the least, the flagship C5 Aircross SUV gets the maximum benefit of new GST structure rationalizing taxes as its price has dropped by Rs 2.70 lakh. The Shine variant of the SUV now comes at a sticker price of Rs 37.32 lakh (ex-showroom).

Citroen further stated in an official statement that the new GST reforms is likely to catalyse demand and increase footfall at the showrooms as it coincides with the festival period of Onam, Anant Chaturdashi, Navratri, Eid and Diwali. The industry growth as a whole is also expected to rise beyond earlier forecasts.

Citroen recently launched the fully-loaded Basalt X range in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs 12.89 lakh (ex-showroom). It was equipped with some of the most advanced and premium features in the form of Proxi-Sense PEPS and Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, HALO 360° camera system with 7 viewing modes, auto-dimming Electrochromic IRVM, LED Vision projector headlamps, LED Projector front fog lamps & LED DRLs, Advanced Comfort Suspension & TROPICOOL ventilated seats.

The Basalt X boasts of multiple upmarket safety features as standard such as Perimetric Alarm, ESP, Hill Hold Control, TPMS, ISOFIX, ABS with EBD and 6 airbags. A special mention goes to CARA, which is touted as India’s first intelligent in-car companion. The customer deliveries of the Basalt X range will start from mid-October in the country.
