झारखंड के खूंटी से आने वाले आशीष तानी पूर्ति ने U18 Men’s Hockey Asia Cup में इतिहास रच दिया। सेमीफाइनल में पाकिस्तान के खिलाफ 4 गोल और फाइनल में जापान के खिलाफ हैट्रिक लगाकर भारत को गोल्ड दिलाया।
जहाँ एक तरफ उनका परिवार आज भी एक छोटे से प्लास्टिक की चादरों से ढकी छत के नीचे रहता है और माता-पिता 20–30 रुपये कमाते हैं, वहीं आशीष ने अपनी मेहनत से पूरे देश को गर्व महसूस कराया।
