Maruti Suzuki’s continued SUV offensive to see the launch of two premium models this fiscal, one sold through Arena and one through Nexa
From just two SUVs – S-Cross and Vitara Brezza (now called Brezza) – a few years ago, Maruti Suzuki has rapidly expanded its SUV portfolio to five models in the last three years, now including the Grand Vitara, Fronx and Jimny. This fiscal year, likely in the October-December period, the company will further expand the line-up with two premium midsize SUVs.
1. Maruti Suzuki Victoris
The Maruti Victoris is the company’s true Hyundai Creta rival, expected to be priced well under 10 lakh rupees (ex-showroom). Maruti Suzuki has started accepting its bookings at Arena dealerships with a deposit of 10,000 rupees. The Maruti Victoris is 15 mm longer and 10 mm taller than the Maruti Grand Vitara, but is just as wide – 1,795 mm.
It has the same wheelbase, too, measuring 2,600 mm. It features a relatively understated design for the most part, as evident in the smaller grille area, the use of regular headlamps instead of split ones, and the reduced use of chrome. The only exclusion in this regard is a full-width tail light.

Inside, the Maruti Victoris is a breath of fresh air, featuring a more modern-looking dashboard and door panels with integrated ambient lighting, new switchgear, and more advanced displays: a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system. A gesture-controlled powered tailgate, an 8-way electrically adjustable and ventilated driver’s seat, ventilated front passenger seat, six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake, and a 360º camera system are some other highlights.
Maruti Suzuki offers the Victoris with the same mild-hybrid petrol, full-hybrid (strong hybrid) petrol, and bi-fuel petrol-CNG engines as the Grand Vitara, with 5-speed MT/6-speed AT, e-CVT, and 5-speed MT, respectively. An all-wheel drive system is available as an option in the mild-hybrid petrol variant, if equipped with the 5-speed MT.

2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
The Maruti e-Vitara, the company’s first EV, directly competes with the Hyundai Creta Electric and the MG ZS EV. Planned to be sold through Nexa outlets, the electric model features a muscular exterior and an elegant interior, in line with Suzuki’s global standards. Features like 18-inch alloy wheels, 10-way power driver’s seat, 40:20:40-split sliding and reclining rear seats, a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, and seven airbags make it the most advanced model in the Maruti Suzuki line-up.
Maruti Suzuki will offer the e-Vitara in standard-range and extended-range variants with 49 kWh and 61 kWh LFP battery packs, respectively. Both will feature an AC synchronous motor, but tuned to produce 142 hp and 192.5 Nm of torque in the former and 172 hp and 192.5 Nm of torque in the latter. The standard-range variant should deliver a range of close to 400 km, and the extended-range variant over 500 km.
