The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the SSC CGL 2026 notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 to fill various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Ministries/Departments/Organizations of Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/Statutory Bodies/Tribunals, etc. This is one of the largest graduate level recruitment opportunities in 2026.

The online application started on 21 May 2026 and the last date to apply online is 22 June 2026 (23:00 hours). Eligible male and female candidates can apply through the official website https://ssc.gov.in.

  • Pay Level-8: ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 (Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer)
  • Pay Level-7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (Assistant Section
    Officer, Inspector of Income Tax, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Sub
    Inspector in CBI, etc.)
  • Pay Level-6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Assistant, Executive
    Assistant, Research Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Sub Inspector in
    NIA, Junior Statistical Officer, etc.)
  • Pay Level-5: ₹29,200 – ₹92,300 (Auditor, Accountant)
  • Pay Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (Postal Assistant, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Tax Assistant, etc.)

Selected candidates will also get Dearness Allowance, House Rent
Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other Central Government benefits as
per rules.

✅ SSC CGL 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01.08.2026):

  • Generally 18-30 years. Age varies by post – 18-27 years for some Group C posts, 20-30 years for some Group B posts, and 18-32 years for Junior Statistical Officer.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST), Ex-Servicemen – 3 years after deduction of military service, Defence Personnel (disabled) – 3 years (8 years for SC/ST).

Educational Qualification:

  • For most posts: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor’s Degree + desirable CA/CMA/CS/M.Com/MBA (Finance) etc. Candidates have to qualify Subordinate Audit/Accounts Service Examination during probation.
  • Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s Degree with 60% in Mathematics in 12th OR Statistics as a subject in graduation.
  • Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Economics/Demography/Computer Science/Data Science/AI etc.
  • For Assistant Audit Officer (State Cadre) & Assistant Accounts Officer (State Cadre): Additional proficiency in the Regional/Official language of the concerned State is required.
