SummaryThere was no need to charge, but still did to be safe and help the CPOsI saw what the future holds for EVs on this trip. Short breaks are better than one long break, but they need infrastructure to be available at every fuel station!1st charge was for 19 minutes while I had breakfast (super quick breakfast break)2nd charge was just to check an IndianOil charger, which was for just 12 minutesOverall range > 700KMs, considering both of the above breaksLeft around 6AM Quick breakfast stop and plugged the car in Xobolt 60KW charger. Got full 60KW speed for a change, as generally in Rajasthan, CPOs cap the charging speed to 22-24KW due to some LT/HT policy. Gained around ~20% SOC here. Summary of charging session Reached my destination even before I had predicted. This is similar to what I was doing in my ICE cars. The roads here were state highways and major district roads. Maintained a healthy 80-90km/hr pace, resulting into a 60km/hr average speed, which is very good for these roads. This shows how friendly ( or not so ) I was with the pedal. On the way back, I noticed a brand new IndianOil 60KW charger. It was installed just one day before, and the staff were very happy to see an EV already here for charging!IndianOil has revamped the app, still not perfect (far from it), but miles ahead of what it was earlier. These charging rates were also super cheap, around 14rs/unit.The station was a new-gen Servotech, and although it was labelled as 30KW, I got a full 60KW.Took a short bio break and chatted with the owner and explained to him the need to keep the charger online so that more EVs come. All this lasted for a mere 12minutes, and I left with ~13% more SOC.Hence, I topped up ~33% SOC in total. Reached back with 36% SOC remaining. Hence, I could have done ~700KMs while only charging for such short sessions. If we get such chargers on all fuel bunks, we will enter the next era of EV travel in India. No more planning and charging as and when required, and that too for a short period. Overall, very happy with the efficiency and performance of XEV 9E. On expressways, I allow smart-pilot to do most of the driving while I keep paying all the attention it needs from my side.
